Fire Retardant Sound Blanket
Fire Retardant Sound Blanket
The exterior sound absorbing blankets are made of high-quality materials that are resilient to the sun, chemicals and dirty environments. The hanging sound blankets have high tensile strength and tear strength, is easy to install, and has the required length.
The STC rating of the stitched fire retardant sound blanket is 15-27 (blocking between 15 and 27 decibels). The standard color is blue, and custom colors are provided. Stitched blanket sides and ends and mounting buttonholes are standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
What colors does the sound attenuation fire blanket come in?
The sound attenuation fire blanket can be made in various colors.
Where should I place the sound blanket with grommets?
Again, such matters are best left to an Acoustical Engineer to determine if possible. Generally speaking, a sound blanket with grommets should be as close to the noise source as possible, while allowing for suitable access and air flow for the equipment. We will be happy to provide input on such matters, as well as refer you to a local Acoustical Engineer if desired.
How tall does the sound blanket need to be? How to soundproof with blankets?
Ideally, and acoustical engineer will advise on the optimum height for the blanket. A basic rule of thumb for barrier height is: Sound blankets should be at least as tall as the line-of-sight between the noise source and the receiver, plus 30%. So if the line-of-sight is 10′ high, then the barrier should be at least 13′ tall for best performance. We will be happy to provide input on such matters, as well as refer you to a local Acoustical Engineer if desired.
How much does the hanging sound blanket cost?
The acoustical curtains are cost-competitive with other high-performance sound attenuation fire blankets, and is priced on a square-foot/meter basis. Pricing is based on final layout design and wind loads. Our pricing does not include installation. The primary considerations that influence pricing are barrier height, wind load and any options desired. Once we have the pertinent details of any application, we will provide a detailed Quotation for Customer approval.
